Toro is Main Sponsor of The 2nd Golf Business Conference

Serving Professionals

While most people recognize Toro as a manufacturer of residential products, professional equipment actually comprises two-thirds of net sales. Our largest and fastest-growing market is golf, which we entered in 1921 as the first company to mount five reel mowers on a Toro tractor to cut the fairways at The Minikahda Club in Minneapolis.

Today, Toro continues to introduce innovative products to meet the changing needs of professional customers which include golf course superintendents, grounds and sports field managers, and landscape and irrigation contractors. Customers count on Toro for quality, high performing products that include precision fairway and rough mowers, greens mowers, compact utility loaders, commercial zero-turn mowers, bunker management machines, and water-efficient irrigation systems. In addition, Toro helps beautify and maintain many of the world's top sports venues, public grounds, and agricultural fields.

Delivering Innovation and Productivity Worldwide

The Toro Company is committed to innovation. We listen to our customers' needs - then help them become realities. Backed by top-quality engineering, state-of-the-art research, and thorough testing, our products deliver superior performance year after year. Toro also leads the way in environmental innovations, making products safer, cleaner and quieter whenever possible. In addition, we develop precision irrigation systems to help customers conserve precious water resources.

Toro's Grassroots

The Toro Company is proud of its legacy of quality and innovation. The company began as Toro Motor Company, an engine supplier for Bull Tractor Company, in 1914 and survived the tumultuous years of World War I by building steam engines to support the war effort. Toro shifted gears in 1920, changing its name to Toro Manufacturing Company and refocusing its efforts on farming equipment.
In 1921, Toro created the first mechanical golf course maintenance equipment by mounting five lawn mowers behind a Toro tractor to mow the fairways at The Minikahda Club in Minneapolis.
Toro entered the residential market in 1925 with the Silver Flash push reel mower, and expanded into the international marketplace in 1928, shipping golf course and grounds equipment worldwide.
