 Denise Adams’ expertise involves developing and executing successful membership marketing programs for exclusive business, social and sports clubs, golf clubs and country clubs. During her career she has been instrumental in planning and implementing club development and membership sales programs for more than 80 private and semi-private clubs throughout the United States, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Bahamas, Central and South America, and South Africa.

Ms. Adams has been successful in marketing memberships with initiation fees ranging from $2,000 to $1,600,000. Her experience encompasses the full range of the private and semi-private clubs worldwide, from well-known American golf clubs like Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio and Prince Golf Club in Kauai; to prestigious business, sports and golf clubs in US and international destinations like Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Kauai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Beijing, Incheon, Tokyo, Paris, Frankfort, Zurich, Stockholm, Dubai, Durban, Johannesburg, Panama, Sydney, Mexico City, Cozumel, and Puerto Vallarta.

Ms. Adams has had a long association with the world’s largest developers and operators of private and semi-private golf, business, and sports clubs. Her work literally has taken her around the world, and has involved market studies, drafting and implementation of marketing plans, club turnarounds, formation of boards of governors and membership committees, training and coaching clubs’ membership and marketing directors, and coordinating clubs’ public relations efforts.

Ms. Adams plays a key role in the development of strategic business plans and marketing plans for all private and semi-private clubs, and then takes the lead to insure that marketing plans are implemented successfully. She oversees the creation of membership documents and collateral materials; recruits, trains and coaches the club membership director; and works very closely with club owners and board of governors in the selection of the club’s founding members.

Ms. Adams served as Membership Director and then Regional Membership Director for ClubCorp from 1979 to 1990 (Northeast and West Regions) and then as Vice President of Marketing for ClubCorp International from 1995-July, 2003. She served as Co-Founder of Pacific Century Clubs and The Club Marketing Report from 1990 to 1995. She has been serving as Vice President of Marketing for Kitson & Partners from July, 2003 to present. She has authored three books for the club industry: Membership Sales Skills Manual, The Club Marketing Reference Library and The Guide to Membership Marketing. Since publication, The Guide to Membership Marketing has become the formal training resource for the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA). Ms. Adams has been a featured speaker and panelist at numerous club industry conferences and seminars, both in the United States and abroad including World Trade Center Association Annual Conferences (WTCA), Private Clubs Marketing Association (PCMA), KPMG International, Golf Inc., and CLE International Golf & Resort Development Conference.
