| Since August 2005, David has been Chief Executive of PGA European Tour Courses, a pan-European network of golf venues. The Company, previously operated as a joint-venture between the European Tour and IMG, was acquired by Irish Businessman Denis O’Brien in 2001 and has since expanded to become one of Europe’s largest golf venue owner-operators. PGA European Tour Courses owns venues of the quality of Quinta do Lago in Portugal, PGA Golf de Catalunya in Spain and Kungsangen in Sweden, four-time venue of the Scandinavian Masters. Other Member-venues within the Group, including the 72 hole resort of Fleesensee in Germany, are licensed to carry the prestigious PGA ETC brand, and the network will be selectively expanded over the next five years. David is responsible for all aspects of the Company’s operation and development, with golf and real-estate the two principal sectors. PGA ETC currently owns, manages and licenses eleven venues across ten countries. Prior to this appointment, David spent five years in charge of all aspects of golf for Marriott UK, Europe’s largest hotel golf operator. David’s span of responsibilities included operations, service, human resources, golf course conditioning, capital and new project development, membership, sales, marketing, tournaments and the business performance of twelve golf venues. |
